The Yorkshire Terrier Training Basics
Yorkshire Terriers are great dogs. They are small, fine boned, elegant and easy to carry. They make great family pets, if trained properly, and are even great watchdogs because they are so constantly alert. They do not require a lot of exercise, and are usually happy enough just being at home hanging out with their owner.
Before you get a Yorkshire Terrier yourself however, you are going to want to be educated on the matter of Yorkshire Terrier training. This is important because you want to have a polite and well-behaved dog, and you are only going to get this with proper obedience training. There are a few characteristics of the Yorkshire Terrier that you are going to want to be aware of before you begin training them, namely that they tend to have separation anxiety and that they often have housebreaking problems. Many Yorkies also have trouble learning socialization training and you are going to want to be prepared for this.

For one, remember that they love excitement, and that it does not take much coaxing to get them interested in doing things. Just make sure that you do not have anything around them that is going to distract them, so that they can stay focused and concentrate on you.
It is critical that you understand the importance of Yorkshire Terrier paper training. Only place papers where you want your pet to eliminate and thoroughly clean any accident spots to discourage repeats. Remember that when you are working with a puppy of any breed you need to use lots of praise and rewards. You should start your training sessions as soon as you bring your little puppy home, because this is how you will have the most success.
You need to make sure that you keep your training sessions short and consistent. You also want to make sure that the dog is having fun, because this is really the only way that you will be able to keep them interested. Build on your successes and let your puppy know that they are doing well.
