When you see Pugs, you probably think that they are easy to train. Well, the fact of the matter is this breed is dog is very headstrong and can be a tough nut to crack. Pugs may be small in stature but they are mighty in spirit. They just do not seem to know that they are small. That is why some owners have a bit of a time establishing that they are top dog over their diminutive dog. It is because of their nature that lots of love and patience is necessary to potty train them.

Pug house training is only as difficult or easy as you make it. Yes, they can be stubborn little toots, but they are smart and once you find the right “trick” to reach past that stubbornness, you will have them potty trained in no time at all.

There are varying opinions about the right time to start Pug potty training. Of course, it should be after they are weaned from their moms. Seven to nine weeks is typically when most owners like to start. Some experts believe that this is still a little young. It really depends on the personality and receptiveness of your dog because each Pug is different. You should, however, be prepared for some accidents even after your dog understands and mostly follows the potty training concept.
